Soil Mates Australia Philippines teams up with MMSU to promote regenerative agriculture

Mr. Bruce Pearse, Australian Microbiologist and Managing Director of Soil Mates Australia Philippines visited Mariano Marcos State University today, September 12, to promote regenerative agriculture in the university.
During the visit, Mr. Pearse shared his expertise on regenerative agriculture, emphasizing on improving soil health, biodiversity, and flexibility against climate change. He noted that regenerative agriculture is expected to significantly impact farming techniques and research.
MMSU OIC President Prima Fe R. Franco commended Mr. Pearse’s innovative approach. “This cutting-edge method will be vital to MMSU’s ongoing commitment of advancing agricultural research,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dionisio Bucao, director for research, innovation and technology, stated, “Through regenerative agriculture, we anticipate a potential increase in crop production, which will be helpful for our research and extended local farming communities.”
MMSU plans to conduct a series of lectures on regenerative agriculture with Mr. Pearse, targeting agriculture and biology students. Additionally, a farm demonstration will be organized to extend these practices to farmers beyond the university community, providing practical insights and hands-on experience.
