About MMSU
External Linkages and Partnerships
About
In the context of globalization, the university is geared towards the internationalization of its programs by establishing, coordinating, and managing linkages and partnerships locally and internationally. These linkages (partnerships and networks) with government, non-government institutions, colleges and universities, aim to advance academic excellence, research, and extension engagements of the university. The Office of the External Linkages and Partnerships works with the Offices of the International Programs and the Alumni Relations, in coordination with the existing units of the university by establishing, managing, and sustaining collaborations on areas of mutual interest using the principle of reciprocity. These are formalized through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and/or Letter of Agreement (LoA) on several undertakings such as faculty/student – mobility for research, lectures and discussions, joint conferences, research engagements and programs, exchange of academic materials/publications, and capability-building activities.
Through the help of the International Coordinating Committee (ICC), an arm of the Office of the International Programs, the internationalization needs of the operating units are identified and prioritized. Furthermore, the ICC together with the ELP Director touch base with potential partners in facilitating and coordinating partnerships through face-to-face and/or online platforms such as education fairs, study tours, conferences, zoom, skype, google hangout, WhatsApp, etc.
Functions of the Office
- Establishes, manages, and sustains partnerships locally and internationally
- Leads in the implementation of the terms and conditions stated in the agreements entered into by the university
- Gives information to the university’s operating units regarding internationalization opportunities like academic exchanges, study tours, paper presentations, and participation to international conferences
- Provides advise and extends support to international students, faculty, staff, and scholars during their stay in the university
- Runs internationalization programs and activities like academic exchanges, organization of and participation to international conferences, hosting of Balik Scientists, fellows, and visiting professors and researchers.
