Mariano Marcos State University is reviewing 111 papers for the 2025 Agency In-house Research Review for faculty researchers at the National Bionergy Research and Innovation Center from August 4 to 6.

During the three-day event, a total of 111 studies from different cluster themes will be presented: 31 in agriculture, forestry and natural resources, environment, fisheries and climate change; 22 in engineering and information technology; 27 in health and wellness, and product development; and 31 in education, social sciences, humanities, culture and arts, business and tourism industry.

The research review serves as an avenue for researchers to showcase their ongoing and completed research projects and provides them with an opportunity to receive insightful feedback from their respective evaluators.

In line with the event’s purpose of improving the university’s research culture, MMSU President Virgilio Julius Manzano, Jr. highlighted the potential benefits of their research to their chosen communities.

“We need to do a lot of things, not just to conduct research, but to focus on what is needed and relevant, and to help improve the quality of life in our communities,” Dr. Manzano told the participants.

Meanwhile, Research Director Dionisio Bucao explained that the in-house review was designed to enhance the clarity, validity, and technical soundness of research methodologies and findings, and to ensure alignment of research initiatives with MMSU’s institutional priorities, as well as regional and national development goals.

Dr. Nathaniel Alibuyog, vice president for research, development, and innovation, also stated that the continued support for university researchers is an important step toward achieving the university’s goal of producing at least 200 publishable papers across a wide range of disciplines.
