MMSU beats nat’l record in PT exam

After the recent triumphs of MMSU in the nursing and pharmacy licensure examinations, it’s the physical therapy program’s turn to make good news.

The university was the only school in Region I which surpassed the national average in the Licensure Examination for Physical Therapists held on Feb. 2-3 in Manila and Cebu City. Eighteen of the 33 examinees the university fielded made it, recording a 54.55 percent passing percentage which is better than the 52.04% national mark (370 of 711 examinees).

The other Region I PT schools were: Lyceum Northwestern University, Pangasinan (45.45%), Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, Pangasinan (33.33%), Lorma Colleges, La Union (28.57%), and Northwestern University, Laoag City (0%).

Based on the official document released by the professional Regulation Commission, MMSU occupied the eighth highest spot among 18 schools nationwide that fielded 10 or more examinees.

Elated by the results, President Miriam E. Pascua conveyed her congratulations during the flag-raising ceremony on Feb. 10.

Prof. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang, in his report to the president, thanked the university administration and the entire MMSU community for all the support, motivation, and prayers they offered. “We promise to continue striving hard in preparing our future professionals for this challenge,” he said, assuring further that the faculty members are constantly seeking better plans and strategies to improve board exam results.
