Heightening its student mobility efforts, the Mariano Marcos State University partnered with Universitas PGRI MADIUN (UNIPMA) Indonesia in holding an International Lecturing Program yesterday, November 8, at the MMSU Center for Flexible Learning.

More than 70 faculty members and students from the MMSU College of Teacher Education (CTE) and Laboratory High School (LHS) joined the event.

An expert in teaching English for Young Learners, Prof. Sri Lestari, director of cooperation, public relations, and entrepreneurship bureau of UNIPMA Indonesia, shared her insights on digital learning resources for students. Also, Dr. Marheny Lukitasari, vice rector II of UNIPMA Indonesia, talked about the Miracle Cell in Life which highlighted teaching pedagogy, cell biology, and biology education in general.

MMSU Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight, Dr. Julius P. Manzano Jr., welcomed the lecturers from UNIPMA Indonesia and emphasized that the International Lecturing Program aimed to foster educational development for Ilocano and Indonesian students.

MMSU and UNIPMA have formally forged partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in 2019. Among the programs and activities established were a six-week lecture series on strategic management and business ethics and webinar series on language and humanities. In January 2024, several CTE students are expected to attend an exchange, lecture and internship program to be held in Indonesia. (HLY/JVBT, StratCom)
