
PJM attends presidents’ summit on new accreditation framework

MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., attended the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACUP) presidents’ summit, which aimed to align the visions of higher education leaders to the new accreditation framework, on August 14-15 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.
With the theme "Quality Assurance and Accreditation: New Framework, New Directions in Higher Education,” the event, hosted by AACUP Inc., gathered State Universities and Colleges (SUC) presidents nationwide to align institutional strategies with national and international quality benchmarks.
The summit promoted continuous improvement and global competitiveness, contextualized the new framework for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, presented the revised AACCUP standards and instruments, and shared best practices, challenges, and innovations in the evolving landscape of higher education accreditation.
In her keynote message, CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis emphasized the importance of accreditation in advancing the quality of higher education in the Philippines. She also highlighted the serious role of accreditation as a measure of excellence that is meaningful in a fast-changing and technology-driven world.
Present alongside PJM are Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo and Director for Quality Assurance Lawrence Eclarin.
AACCUP is a recognized accrediting agency for SUCs in the Philippines, committed to ensuring quality standards in higher education through systematic evaluation and accreditation processes.
