The Mariano Marcos State University has partnered with the Jiangsu Agri-Animal Husbandry Vocational College (JSAHVC), a reputable creature science and innovation school based in Jiangsu, China. The two universities sealed their partnership through a memorandum of agreement between MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis and JSAHVC President Zhu Shanyuan today, August 31, at the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) Permanent Host Site in Guiyang City, China.

In the five-year deal, MMSU and JSAHVC agreed to carry out faculty, scholars, and student exchange, to conduct academic meetings, and to implement research, development and extension programs.

Dr. Agrupis thanked the agricultural science and innovation school, and hopes the partnership will strengthen MMSU’s veterinary medicine program.

For his part, Dr. Zhu believes that partnering with MMSU reflects friendly relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of the Philippines.

The event is part of the CAECW which runs until September 2. Presidents of 14 tertiary schools, and CHED officials comprise the Philippine delegation.

Yesterday, MMSU forged ties with the Center of International Education of Guangzhou Xinhua University (GXU) to promote educational and research exchanges. MMSU and other 13 Philippine HEIs signed agreements with Chinese schools in a program co-organized by CHED and Guizhou Provincial Department of Education.

Now on its 16th year, the CAECW aims to promote educational cooperation and people-to-people exchange between China and ASEAN countries, and contributes to the Belt and Road Cooperation. (HLY/JVBT, StratCom)
