MMSU recognized anew as IPOPHL Platinum Awardee

Following its breakthrough success last year, the Mariano Marcos State University was again recognized as a Platinum Awardee by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis received the award during the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Presidents’ Summit held on March 18, at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City. The award recognizes MMSU’s aggressive efforts to meet the ITSO 2.0 Clustering deliverables for 2023. 


Dr. Dionisio Bucao, MMSU director for research, innovation, and technology, and Engr. Artbellson Mamuri, MMSU chief of the University Innovation and Technology Support Office (UITSO), joined President Agrupis in the awarding ceremony. 


The Platinum Award is the highest distinction accorded by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) exclusively to the country’s top and high-performing Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSO). 


The ITSO Presidents’ Summit provided updates on ITSO program implementation, aimed at empowering participants from various agenices to generate more innovative and impactful outputs from their research and development endeavors. 


The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) program which is funded by Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture Aquatic Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), was an instrument in pioneering IP management and Technology Commercialization in MMSU.
