MMSU joins Inter-Academia Asia 2019

MMSU was one of the nine universities that participated in the 6th Conference of the Inter-Academia Asia (IAA) held at the Hotel Associa Shizuoka in Shizuoka, Japan.

Representing MMSU in the conference were Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, director of MMSU External Linkages and Partnerships, and Engr. Julius I. Jimenez, a CAFSD faculty.

Dr. Domingo presented the internationalization initiatives of MMSU in a roundtable discussion with faculty representatives from different countries. Also, Engr. Jimenez presented the paper, “Flood risk assessment as affected by land use change for policy intervention: case of Quiaoit river water watershed in Northern Philippines”, which is co-authored by Dr. Carlos Pascual, chief for university’s international programs.

Held on December 2-4, the 6th conference of IAA also served as an avenue to form the foundation for further exchange and cooperation among the participating universities.

The IAA is a community of higher education institutions formed by Shizuoka University in Japan and partner universities in Southeast and South Asia.

In November 2018, MMSU and SU signed a memorandum of understanding for a joint exchange program.
