The MMSU Global Association (MGA) awarded scholarships to six students from various colleges during the 2025 Global Alumni King and Queen Coronation and Ball, held on February 19 at Teatro Ilocandia.

The students received P10,000 each as part of the MGA scholarship program initiated by the Alumni Relations Office and the Office for Student Affairs and Services.

Additionally, four students were given P2,500 each from the personal fund of MGA President Lawrence Patricio, along with a P1,000 donation from Mr. Marc Kevin Catabay.

The Coronation and Ball was organized by the MGA and the Federated Alumni Association Inc. (FAAI) to serve as a gathering for alumni to reconnect, celebrate their achievements, and honor their continued contributions to the university.

Among the attendees were members of MGA and FAAI, alumni from MMSU’s predecessor school, the Northern Luzon Teacher College (NLTC), balikbayan guests, university officials, faculty members, and employees.

Incoming MMSU 8th President Virgilio Julius Manzano, Jr., the event’s guest speaker, commended the ongoing contributions of global alumni, emphasizing they are “invaluable partners in creating more opportunities for the MMSU community.”

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, represented by Senior Board Member Rafael Medina, acknowledged the alumni’s contributions, calling them an inspiration to MMSU students. "The successful alumni of MMSU are an inspiration for all the university students."

The highlight of the evening was the coronation of the 2024 King Bert Gamiao (CTE) and Queen Marylin Tolentino Villar (NLTC). The event also crowned 1st Princess Andrea Ganal Sanchez (CBEA), 1st Prince Bismark Angelo Quidang (CBEA), 2nd Prince Marc Kevin Catabay (CHS), and 6th Prince Aladine Santos (COE).

A total of ₱37,600 was raised during the event through the MGA Academic Excellence Scholarship Donation Box, supporting further scholarship opportunities for deserving students.

FAAI President Gwyneth Quidang expressed her gratitude to fellow alumni for their continuous cooperation with their programs. “This event is a testament to the unwavering support, generosity, and commitment of the MMSU alumni community across the globe.”

Before the coronation and ball, MGA and FAAI initiatives were launched, including the inauguration of the MMSU Alumni Park, the groundbreaking of an open learning space at the College of Teacher Education (CTE), and the distribution of air conditioning units to the Laboratory High School.

Looking ahead, MGA and FAAI announced plans for further development projects at the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy, the College of Health Sciences, and the MMSU Dingras campus.

The MMSU Global Alumni Reunion in Honolulu, Hawaii, held in July 2024, raised USD 35,177.10 to fund the Alumni Park and the CTE open learning space.
