MMSU faculty trained on action research

In line with MMSU’s direction of becoming a research university, the Research Directorate (RD) and the College of Teacher Education (CTE) are holding an online action research training for faculty members.
Thirty faculty researchers of the university are participating in the series that started on July 6, and will continue every Wednesday until August 31.
The two-month training is organized by the RD - Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication and Education Research Center headed by chief Jareason Fabre, and CTE Research Office.
MMSU Research Director Bjorn Santos said the activity seeks to comprehensively capacitate faculty in conceptualizing, publishing, and utilizing research results, revolving around the theme, “Advancing Action Research for Transformative Education.”
The training series involves rigorous mentoring sessions delivered by two resource experts: Dr. Maricar S. Prudente and Dr. Socorro E. Aguja, professors from De La Salle University.
In her message during the event’s opening program, MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis encouraged the trainees to help the university in strengthening research, one of its core functions. “This training is supportive to MMSU’s goal to become a research university,” she remarked.
