Ms. Kriza Mae Tabunda, fourth-year MMSU English Language student, earned her international micro-credential on analyzing intercultural communication for conflict management at the 2024 Thailand University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Micro-Credential Program held from July to August 2024.

Spearheaded by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), the four-week program aimed to provide learners the opportunity to develop specific competencies and receive a certificate of achievement as proof of their learning outcomes to meet the growing demand for upskilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning.

The program consists of three essential courses: data visualization, which focuses on data science fundamentals and data visualization for modern business; cultural dimensions in communication, which explores cultural expectations and cross-cultural understanding; and persuasive presentation, which highlights effective communication techniques.

Other English Language students who joined the program were Apple Joy Ligsay, Clifford Marione Lazo, Mae Angelica Dichoso, Venus Navarro, and Estephen James Manarpaac. The students were assisted by Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, director of Internationalization, Linkages, and Partnerships, and Prof. Jeanette Dials, chief of International Faculty and Student Mobility.

Dr. Prima Fe Franco, MMSU OIC President, commended the achievements of the students and highlighted the importance of this opportunity for learners to gain essential skills in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

“This involvement helps the students build critical competencies in fields such as communication, data analysis, and leadership, fostering graduates who are globally competitive and ready to make meaningful contributions to society,” she stated.

KMUTT is a science and technology university based in Bangkok, Thailand, focusing on research and development through innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
