MMSU celebrates 2023 Mental Health and Values Formation

Upholding the overall welfare of its employees, the Mariano Marcos State University held its 2023 Mental Health and Values Formation Celebration on October 27, themed, "Our Minds, Our Rights: Mental Health is Every MMSU Employee's Human Right."

 

This year’s community wellness activities include a webinar on Mental Health Assessment of MMSU Employees for Policy-making by Dr. Fides Bernardo Bitanga, human resources management director, and Mental Health First Response for Employees and Students by Dr. Geraldeen Pascual, career hub chief; and, a dance workout (Watwat).

 

The activity was facilitated by the Psychological Testing Center, led by Prof. Christine Joy Lim, the Health and Wellness Services unit, led by Dr. Leonisa Silvestre, and the Center for Human Movement Studies (CHUMS), led by Prof. Ryan Dean Sucgang.  

 

President Shirley C. Agrupis said, “Our commitment is not really a matter of policy but an expression of love and care to our people. As we celebrate mental health week, let us reaffirm our dedication to these values - let us make our workplace a sanctuary for wellbeing.”

 

The Mental Health and Values Formation Celebration extends until today, October 31- a day for Unit Wellness Lunch across MMSU units, and November 3- a Wellness Day for Self-Care among employees, which are also simultaneously the dates for the students’ Academic Break. (JVBT, StratCom)
