Reaping yet another fruit of its aggressive internationalization efforts, the Mariano Marcos State University bagged the Global Citizenship Award (SUCs and LUCs Category) in the Internationalization Champions of Nations Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2023 today October 6.

President Shirley C. Agrupis received the award at the Philippine International Convention Center, together with Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, director for internationalization, linkages and partnerships.

The university was also recognized for its feats in the World's Universities with Real Impact (WURI) 2023 and the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE Impact), having ranked 101st-200th and 601st-800th, respectively.

Dr. Agrupis expressed delight for the “added feather on the university’s cap.”

“We continue to commit to expand our horizons and make an international mark,” she added.

Last year, the MMSU President was also the national Leadership Award winner of ICONS.

The awarding, hosted by the CHED International Affairs Services, recognizes exemplary Philippine colleges and universities that championed internationalization in Philippine Higher Education. (JBVT, StratCom)
