MMSU-AC holds digital photo-video workshop

The American Corner of Mariano Marcos State University conducted a digital photography and videography workshops dubbed at the university’s American Corner. In focus were American heritage structures in Ilocos Norte.

 

The “Through the Lens” workshop aimed to cultivate the knowledge and skills of MMSU students in heritage studies using digital photography and videography.

 

Prof. Leslie Kay Corpuz, chief of the MMSU Center for Iloko and Amianan Studies, highlighted various documentations and campaigns in preserving the American heritage structures in Ilocos Norte. She noted that, “fostering awareness on the American Heritage recognizes their pivotal place in Ilocano history”.

 

On the technical side, Mr. Jackson Tangonan, documentation services chief of the Office for strategic communication, shared techniques and strategies on digital photography and videography. Prof. Tangonan emphasized that photography and videography are not only meant to delight one’s senses, but can also be a powerful medium to make one’s target audiences think, ponder on, affect, and act.

 

The presentation of the outputs for digital photography and videography and awarding ceremonies took place on November 24.

 

The event was collaboratively facilitated by the American Corner, Center for Iloko and Amianan Studies, StratCom Office, Graduate School, and the College of Arts and Sciences. (JVBT, StratCom)
