GS submits 4 programs for accreditation survey
By Daniel P. Tapaoan, Jr.
In its constant quest for quality and excellence, the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) submitted its four graduate programs to online accreditation survey being conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Charted Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP).
Undergoing Level 2 survey from September 27 to October 1 are the Doctor of Philosophy in Linguistics, Master of Arts in English Language and Literature, Master of Science in Biology, and Master of Science in Mathematics of the MMSU Graduate School.
The documents of these programs were already uploaded in an indigenous online system designed by the Information Technology Center.
Dr. Renelda P. Nacianceno serves as the overall coordinator of the survey visit. Members of the accrediting team are Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo and Dr. Maria Lady Sol A. Suazo (PhD Lingustics); Prof. Angel Douglas A. Aragon and Prof. Jograce E. Regencia (MAELL); Dr. Tessie E. Lerios and Prof. Trinidad D. Macasil (MS Bio); Prof. Ma. Donna B. Macadangdang and Dr. Hermie V. Inoferio (MS Math); and Prof. Roberto Rodel R. Gonzales (library accreditor).
They will evaluate the four graduate programs through verification of documents and virtual interview sessions with selected stakeholders (alumni, local government officials, industry and community partners).
Nacianceno said each program for Level 2 survey must pass the 3.5 grand mean and 3.0 area mean.
She also lauded MMSU for braving the online accreditation once again, a proof that the school continues to strive for quality assurance in the new normal.
University President Shirley C. Agrupis said the university subjects its programs to accreditation to sustain its brand of academic excellence.
She thanked the faculty of the four programs for their efforts in preparing for the accreditation activities, and extended her gratitude to the accreditors for their unwavering commitment.
Amid the pandemic, the University continued its quest for quality and excellence. Aside from submitting its programs for accreditation survey visits, it also successfully obtained certifications from Institutional Accreditation, International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2015), and the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) in 2020.
