CTE mentor gets certified by Google for Education

By Niña Christelle Sumintac

Prof. Regie Boy Fabro, a faculty member of the Technical-Vocational Livelihood Education Department (TVLED) of the MMSU – College of Teacher Education qualified as a Google for Education Certified Trainer.

The certification acknowledged Fabro’s knowledge and skills required to empower educators to use technology in the classroom through high-quality training on Google for Education tools.

This made him a member of The Google Educators Groups (GEGs) which aims to connect educators across the world to integrate online and offline technology in schools and communities.

With this, Fabro is now qualified to hold activities on Google Workspace for Education (GWE) to facilitate transformative learning, work and innovation among educators and students.

With this, he created the IlocoTech Support Group which consists of teachers and faculty from MMSU and Department of Education Schools.

The group conducted free webinars already with the following topics: Conquering the North thru Google workspace for Education (July 17); Balik Eskwela 2021, I'm Ready Na: Using Google Slides, Google Docs and Google forms for effective instruction (August 2); Splashing the 6Cs of Wakelet (September 4), and 4) Balik Eskwela 2021: Integrated Lesson Exemplar using Google Docs (September 8).

Mr. Fabro said that the certification allowed him to expand his professional learning network (PLN) and empowered him to help other teachers to elevate their skills using GWE.
