Large crowds of tech-savvy individuals filled the grounds of the Mariano Marcos State University - College of Industrial Technology during its Open House 2022 - Technovation 1.0 on May 2.

CIT Dean Dr. Cesario Pacis said  this year’s theme, “Going Big and Extra,” reflects the college’s aggressive efforts and aspirations in strengthening technical vocational courses being offered in the university despite the many challenges the field faces today.

“As we strengthen our mandate, we also face many issues in the way to strengthen the field of TechVoc, but adversity made the college even more tenacious, creative, and focused, allowing CIT to go bigger and achieve more. Going bigger and doing more is a process of trial and error, experimentation, and improvement,” Dr. Pacis explained.

The activity featured the developments and practices of students in garments technology, food preparation and service management, electronics technology, automotive technology, electrical technology, computer technology, and civil and drafting technology.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Prima Fe Franco commended CIT for holding the activity that provides students a platform to display their skills. The university hopes the event would increase the interest of senior high school students in industrial technology courses.

Through the years, CIT has committed to train students to become skilled workers, knowledgeable and competent industrial technicians, supervisors, and managers who contribute immensely to the attainment of socio-economic stability of the region and the whole nation.

MMSU President Shirley Agrupis reaffirmed the university’s commitment to provide quality technical-vocational education to its students. “We remain committed in developing virtuous human capital who are technically-skilled and can contribute to nation-building,” she expressed.
