CAFSD prof wins best paper award 𝗢n animal science nat`l convention

Dr. Sean Vidad, CAFSD Department of Agricultural Sciences chairperson, bagged the Best Paper Award for his study, “Apparent Metabolizable Energy of Basal Feeds for Itikpinas-Itim (𝘈𝘯𝘒𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘒𝘡𝘺𝘳𝘩𝘺𝘯𝘀𝘩𝘰𝘴)” in the 60th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society of Animal Science (PSAS) held on October 17-20 at Bohol Tropics Resort in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. The paper bested the other eight entries under the animal nutrition category. 

 

The study was co-authored by Dr. Antonio Barroga, Dr. Joice San Andres, Dr. Claro Mingala, Dr. Anna Maria Latonio, and Dr. Sharon Lazaro. 

 

Dr. Vidad thanked the advisory committee from the Central Luzon State University and the Philippine Carabao Center - National Headquarters and Genepool for the guidance, the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute for the scholarship and research grant, and the MMSU administration for the support. 

 

The PSAS is a professional, non-profit organization composed of veterinarians, animal scientists, and practitioners in the field across the country. 

 

This year’s convention was themed, “Strengthening the Animal Industry towards Resiliency.” It serves as avenue for knowledge-sharing between and among members through scientific paper and poster presentations, and plenary sessions. (HLY/JVBT, StratCom)
