84 research proposal undergo MMSU in-house review
By Jesslyn Keith Valite
To strengthen the research culture at the university, MMSU is hosting the 2025 Agency In-House Research Proposal Review from June 10 to 11 at the National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center (NBERIC).
Organized by the Research Directorate, the two-day event features research proposals across five themes: 23 in agriculture, forestry, and natural resources; 15 in food, health, and wellness; two in information technology; 32 in education, social sciences, humanities, culture, and arts; and 12 in engineering and industry.
During the review, faculty and researchers will present their proposals to a panel of evaluators from various units and offices within the university. This review process aims to provide feedback to enhance each study's design, feasibility, and overall impact, ensuring that the university's research continues to address real-world challenges and contribute to local and national development.
MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., stated that the in-house review demonstrates the university’s commitment to fulfilling one of its primary functions: research.
“Let’s publish work that is worthy, not just be cited in journals but also in the lives of the communities we impact,” Dr. Manzano told faculty and full-time researchers.
Research Directorate Director Dionisio Bucao emphasized that the annual in-house review helps align research initiatives with the university’s goals and promotes sharing ideas across the community.
