CHED-RO1 re-accredits MMSU-UPTRC as clinical training center

The Mariano Marcos State University–University Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Center (MMSU-UPTRC) has been re-accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 1 Regional Quality Assessment Team after a re-accreditation visit on March 14, 2025.

The re-accreditation result, released on July 1, is valid until June 30, 2028. The assessment ensured that the UPTRC continues to meet the required standards for delivering quality training programs for physical therapy interns.

The MMSU-UPTRC, under the leadership of Dr. Bjorn Santos, vice president for resource generation and management, is composed of Dr. Maria Theresa Rasos, health and wellness director; Ms. Mary Audrey Viloria, UPTRC chief; Mr. Jiggy Allen Vives, clinical training supervisor; Mr. Paul Cresencio Liberato, non-clinical supervisor; and other instructors from the physical therapy department, headed by Dr. Cheryll Didi Neillie Obra, CHS dean.

MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr, commended the Health and Wellness Directorate for earning re-accreditation status. “It manifests that our facilities and training programs are competent and at par with those of other institutions,” he said

.
The MMSU-UPTRC was first accredited as a clinical training institution for physical therapy interns in 2021. The accreditation of affiliation centers for physical therapy clinical training programs follows Republic Act No. 7722, the Higher Education Act of 1994, and CHED Memorandum Order No. 43, Series of 2012.
