Bannering excellence in flexible education, 507 graduate students of Mariano Marcos State University’s graduating class of 2022 received academic awards in a ceremony held at the university covered court today, July 14.

This year’s MMSU Academic Excellence Awards was held separately to give special recognition to the 507 honorees, the biggest number so far in the university’s history, composed of 27 magna cum laude, 479 cum laude, and one with distinction awardees.

They received medals awarded by MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis, university vice presidents, and the members of the university academic awards committee. 

“Your academic achievements speak of your commitment to the core values that MMSU stands for, especially your passion for greater knowledge and wisdom. Wear with pride the medals which serve as a testament for your hard work and dedication in your academic journey,” expressed PSCA. 

Engr. James Gerald C. Dumbrique, project development officer of the People’s Television Network, Inc., served as the guest of honor and speaker in the program. In his message, he inspired the honorees to achieve greater heights and urged them to give back to the university that nurtured them, and contribute to nation-building.

Tomorrow, July 15, the honorees will join the other 1,917 graduating students in the Baccalaureate Service at 8:00 am at the covered court. At 4:00 pm, they will march at the Sunken Garden for the 44th Commencement Exercises. 

These 2,424 graduating students of MMSU are the pioneer graduates of the kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) Basic Education Curriculum. (𝙃𝙇𝙔/𝙅𝙑𝘽𝙏, 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝘾𝙤𝙢)
