SCA presents MMSU programs in NAFSA Expo

Aimed at forging more partnerships with reputable universities in the world, .MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis presented the University’s programs and strategic goals in the NAFSA 2018 International Education Expo held at Pennsylvania, USA, May 27 - June 1. 

 

NAFSA is an International Association of Educators with a mission to advance international education and exchange and global workforce development. It serves international educators and their institutions and organizations by establishing principles of good practice, providing training and professional development opportunities, providing networking opportunities, and advocating for international education.

 

The forum was also participated in by about 9,000 delegates, including representatives from the Kansas State University, Iowa State University, Texas A&M University, University of Pennsylvania, University of California in Berkeley and Davis, Columbia University, University of Illinois Urbana in Champaign, Stanford University, and the Michigan State University, among other institutions around the world.

 

Dr. Agrupis presented the university’s four-fold functions – instruction, research, extension, and business – including the awards and recognitions it received, and its active linkages with national and international organizations.

 

She  was one of the delegates from the Philippines which composed of representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and selected higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country.

 

With the theme “Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment,” the activity also aimed to value the power of diverse voices that leads to more genuine and committed collaboration between and among the universities in the world. The event also served as venue to discuss present concepts which challenged old ideas, crafted solutions to emerging problems, and opened new opportunities for the participating agencies.
