𝘔𝘔𝘚𝘜 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘱 100 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴 18 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴.

Continuing its tradition of excellence and impactful innovation, Mariano Marcos State University ranked 89th worldwide and seventh in the Philippines in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Top 400 Innovative Universities.

 
As the top in Region I among state universities and colleges, MMSU moved up from 107th last 2024 to 89th this year in the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities, announced on July 10. 

MMSU also earned notable achievements in the following categories: fifth globally, second in the Philippines and the region for the Empowerment-Based Management (B2); 15th globally, second in the Philippines and first in the region for Technology Development (A7); and 15th worldwide, fourth in the country, and second in the region for the Visionary Leadership (B1). 

In the Empowerment-Based category, WURI acknowledged how the university’s programs and projects demonstrate leaders’ willingness to give up traditional privileges and continuously adapt to stay effective in the ever-changing landscape of higher education. 

For the Technology Development category, the university was recognized for its response to and application of AI technologies like ChatGPT in education, research, and societal and industry services. 

Additionally, for the Visionary Leadership category, the university was recognized for its programs and projects that exemplify leadership through developing and communicating a clear, inspiring vision for the institution.

MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. expressed gratitude to all university personnel working together for this achievement. He noted that the university’s significant rise in rankings reflects its strong commitment and dedication to meaningful projects, innovation, instruction, and leadership.

 
“May this achievement continue to inspire us all to work even harder, not just to earn awards and recognition, but more importantly, to provide our stakeholders with excellent and quality service,” he added. 

WURI evaluates higher education institutions' real contributions to industry and society, emphasizing innovative education, research, and societal engagement. It utilizes 16 categories covering innovation targets and methods, providing a comprehensive measure of institutions’ creative contributions to societal progress.
