The MMSU Laboratory Schools (LS) held its Joint Graduation Exercises for 156 elementary and senior high school graduates for the school year 2025–2026 at the Teatro Ilocandia on June 6.
The MMSU LS Class of 2026 was composed of 41 graduates from the MMSU Laboratory Elementary School (LES), 57 graduates from the Laboratory High School–Laoag, and 58 graduates from the Laboratory High School–Batac.
Col. Francis L. Dancel of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), General Service Corps (GSC), served as the guest of honor and speaker. In his message, he urged the graduates to bravely face the future and never give up despite life's challenges.
“Never let fear stop you. Never let failure define you. Never let success change your humility,” Col. Dancel said. “Go forward with courage, faith, and with the belief that your future is bigger than your fears,” he added.
Meanwhile, MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., formally confirmed the candidates for graduation and congratulated them on their achievements. In his message, he reminded the graduates to continue learning and uphold the values instilled in them by the university.
“My advice to you is very simple: be curious enough to keep learning, be disciplined enough to stay focused, be humble enough to listen, and be wise enough to use common sense in every decision you will make,” Dr. Manzano said.
Pixie Lorraine Jacinto of the LES, Sophia Grace Javate of LHS-Batac, and Pauline Dainiel Ruiz of LHS-Laoag were named their respective class valedictorians and delivered the valedictory addresses.
In her message, Jacinto recounted her time with her classmates and teachers at the LES and thanked them for their support, guidance, and the memories they shared.
“We may take different paths in the future, but the memories we built will always remain in us,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Javate delivered a message urging her fellow graduates at LHS-Batac to never stop believing in their dreams.
“May we find the courage to believe again, to dream again, and to continue our journeys, despite the limitations, fears, and uncertainties,” she said.
Lastly, Ruiz expressed her gratitude to her fellow graduates at LHS-Laoag for being part of her academic journey. She reminded them that achievements should not define one's identity but should serve as reminders of the people who stood by them along the way.
“Maybe that’s what the medals were meant to be. Not what I achieved, but the people who stood beside me as I worked to become who I am today,” she said.
The Joint MMSU LS Graduation Exercises were attended by university officials, City of Batac officials, LS faculty, staff, and parents. The MMSU ULS is led by its Principal, Prof. Philistia Mercuria Bagayas.
