The University Psychological Testing Center (UPTC) was inaugurated in simple rites held June 8.

President Miriam Pascua, assisted by university officials, cut the ribbon after a simple dedication ceremony led by Pastor Bong Bulosan of the Chief Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

Located at the Continuing Education Training Center (CETC), UPTC occupies two adjoining rooms fully equipped with furniture and paraperhalia in tune with international standards in testing.

Prior to this, the university purchased intelligence/cognitive, aptitude, and personality test instruments from the Philippine Psychological Corporation (PPC) which UPTC will use in administering employment tests, graduate school entrance examinations, and IQ tests for freshmen. A potential income generating project, the tests may be availed with fee by clients from outside MMSU.

Ms. Elizabeth Marfel Gagni, CAS psychology instructor and a registered guidance counselor, serves as university psychometrician. She belongs to the first batch of guidance counselors in the country to be licensed in the field.

Gagni, who holds a psychology degree from Saint Louis University Baguio City and an MA in Education major in guidance and counseling from MMSU, was accredited by PPC to conduct psychological testing after she underwent a rigorous process that includes a series of seminars, training-workshops, and interviews.

PPC is the exclusive distributor of psychological tests in the Philippines.
