Xamantha Angelique Ruiz and Kryshna Campañano, both graduating magna cum laude, have been named co-valedictorians for the 47th Commencement Exercises of Mariano Marcos State University on July 11, 2025, after earning a general weighted average of 1.2500.

Ruiz, the first valedictorian from the College of Computing and Information Sciences, is completing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Campanaño, meanwhile, is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Both are from Laoag City and are alumnae of Ilocos Norte National High School, Class of 2021. Ruiz pursued the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand, while Campanaño took Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) during senior high school.

As co-valedictorians, they will jointly lead the Class of 2025 and deliver the valedictory address on behalf of their batch at the iconic MMSU Sunken Garden. First Lady Louise Araneta - Marcos will grace the ceremony as commencement speaker.
