CBEA instructor undergoes training in China
EVA JEAN Y. Viernes, a tourism instructor at the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy, attended a one-month seminar course on Chinese language and culture in Beijing, China, April 9- May 7.
Sponsored by the Beijing Chinese Language and the Culture College and the Confucius Institute, the program allowed participants to immerse in the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese people. In particular, participants learned about the country’s symbols, hymn, landmarks, language, customs, and arts.
Aside from formal lectures, the participants also visited tourist attractions, schools, bookstores, and malls.
Ms. Viernes will share with tourism students and faculty members her knowledge and experiences from the trip in a \"seminar-tour on China\" to be held at CBEA this semester.
Enrolment hits 11,000 mark
WITH A 10 percent increase in enrolment from the previous year’s, total student populace in the university is now at 11,067, based on recent figures from the Office of the University Registrar.
All colleges, save one, experienced an increase in enrolment. The College of Health Sciences has the highest enrolment at 1,717. Though with the smallest population, the College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology posted a 21.2 percent increase from last year’s, with registration figures now at 103.
2 of 3 pass Foresters Exam
TWO OF three MMSU graduates hurdled the July 2009 Foresters Licensure Examination.
The new foresters are Hershey Mea L. Cagat, who belongs to Batch 2009, and Jesica L. Ganotice of Batch 2008.
The national passing percentage was 66.67
