<B><P align=left><FONT face=Verdana size=5>NATIONAL PIGEONPEA TRAINING</FONT></P></B>

An in-country training on piegeonpea production and development of package of technologies was held May 15-17 at the University Training Center.

Co-sponsored by MMSU, the International Crops Rersearch Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics, and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research,the training aimed to strengthen the capacity of the three agencies’ regional staff in legumes research particularly in the conduct of on-station/on-farm field evaluation of several pigeonpea varieties.

Main speaker was Fernando P. Sugui, supervising education program specialist of the MMSU Research Directorate, who trained on pigeonpea production in India last year.
