MMSU produces 20 new CPAs
TWENTY MMSU graduates hurdled the October 2014 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination, and posted for the university a 57.14 percent passing rate, way above the national average of only 37.02 percent.
Of the 20 passers, 19 were first-takers – all members of Class 2014. Four first-takers failed while eight were conditioned, needing only to take up specific subject areas the next time they take the examination. Of the four retakers, one – a 2012 graduate – made it.
CBEA Dean Lorna F. Salmasan credits this achievement to the dedication and perseverance of the examinees. She also underscored the motivation and support provided by the faculty.
A testimonial program was held for the new CPAs at the Teatro Ilocandia on Nov. 7. On that occasion, Dr. Miriam E. Pascua commended the passers for living up to the university’s standards of excellence.
