MMSU is regional champion in project implementation

MMSU’s extension project on “Food Sovereignty through Sustainable Entrepreneurial Development (FoodSSEnD) Program:  From Elusive to Inclusive Growth and Development” was adjudged champion by NEDA’s Regional Development Council (RDC) during the agency’s Search for Best Project and Best Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Implementers conducted in April.

FoodSSEnD was one of the two programs validated on Jan. 20 by the RDC and the members of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee composed of representatives from the Department of Budget and Management, Presidential Management Office, Department of Interior and Local Government, and NEDA-RDC 1. The other program was “Developing Underserved Rural Areas through Services  (DUR-AS): MMSU’s Mechanism of Fulfilling the MDG’s  through Convergence and Volunteerism.”

This is now the third time that MMSU won such award. In 2012, the university, through its extension office, won third place for its Techno-Gabay program; while in 2013, it emerged first runner-up for the project “Enterprise Livelihood Support for the Academe (ELSA)”. (By Reynaldo E. Andres)
