Mariano Marcos State University Language Center welcomed the first batch of Taiwanese learners for English class and cultural immersion on Monday, July 1.
Twelve Taiwanese students paid a courtesy call to MMSU President Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis at the Ferdinand E. Marcos hall. They were accompanied by Prof. Ryan Roi Domingo, Language Center chief, and the Specialist Learning Providers of the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Teacher Education.
MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis extended her support to Taiwanese students and highlighted the university’s dedication to developing critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills among its international students.
Meanwhile, orientation about the program, interactive and cultural engagement sessions were also conducted at the Center for Flexible Learning.
The Taiwanese students will attend a comprehensive 100-hour class and cultural immersion from July 4 to 26. The second batch of learners will undergo immersion from July 29 to August 23.
The MMSU Language Center started inviting foreign learners for combined English classes and cultural immersion in 2018, which helps learners gain fluency in conversational English and oral presentation.
