MMSU’S TWO university high schools dominated the 5th Pan Ilocandia Health Quiz sponsored by the Mariano marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Aug. 8.

After surviving three elimination rounds, MMSU-Batac emerged as top scorer with 530 points while MMSU-Laoag came in second with 510 points. The two remained for the final round using the “buzzer” type.

MMSU-Laoag eventually emerged champion for smartly answering quickly the question in the tie-break. 

MMSU-Batac, hence, settled for the first runner-up.  It also produced the highest individual scorer, John Lois Padayao.  Other team members were Jean Louise Damo and Gerald Buduan.  The team was coached by Prof. Arsenio T. Gallego.

MMSU-Batac has been the contest’s champion for two years while this year is MMSU-Laoag’s second straight championship.
