The MMSU College of Teacher Education (CTE) has once again been recognized as a Center of Excellence (COE) in Teacher Education by the Teacher Education Council (TEC). The award was presented today, November 27 during a ceremony at the Department of Education Central Office in Pasig City.
TEC Chairperson and DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara handed over the plaque, officially certifying the college’s COE status for the period of November 2024 to November 2025.
Representing the university, OIC President Dr. Prima Fe R. Franco and CTE Dean Dr. Aris Reynold V. Cajigal proudly accepted the award.
Dr. Franco expressed her gratitude to TEC and emphasized the significance of the award. “As we carry this banner of excellence, let us continue to inspire and lead the way in cultivating minds and transforming the futures of educators,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, Dean Cajigal, who led the preparation for reaccreditation, shared, “This event strengthens our zeal to continue producing quality teachers within an academic environment that nurtures 21st-century skills and competencies.”
MMSU CTE has sustained the prestigious COE title in Teacher Education since 1996, validating its long-standing tradition of excellence.
Currently, it is the only college at MMSU to hold this distinction. As a COE, the college continues to set the bar in instruction, research, and publication, serving as a model for other institutions striving to achieve similar recognition.
