Mariano Marcos State  University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines, Inc., Samdo Elearning Corporation, and Hancom Academy on May 7 at the MMSU FEM Hall.

Signed by MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis, Mr. Joseph Um, president of the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines, Inc. and Samdo Elearning Corporation, and Mr. Kwang Hun-Lee, chief executive officer of Hancom Academy, represented by Mr. Oharm Lee, director of Hancom Academy, the five-year agreement aims to conduct Korean language and culture classes via various modalities such as AI teaching program, audio, and e-learning in-person classes. 

Mr. Joseph Um highlighted the importance of this initiative, particularly on the career prospects of MMSU graduates. "This initiative may open job opportunities, especially considering the presence of numerous Korean companies in the Philippines," he said.

In addition, Mr. Joseph Um extended his gratitude toward the new partnership with MMSU and expressed his intention to invite more Korean students to the university. He also proposed an English camp, wherein KCCP will closely collaborate with MMSU and the provincial government office of Ilocos Norte.

In response, MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis expressed optimism about the proposed initiatives. "We are ready for the English camp and to welcome Korean students to the university. We have the facilities to assist us in this endeavor," she enthused.

Also present during the MOU signing were Dr. Prima Fe Franco, vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, director for internationalization, linkages, and partnerships, Dr. Marlina Lino, CAS dean, Mr. Ryan Roi Domingo, MMSU chief of the language center, and Mr Jefferson Baloaloa, admin officer of PGIN.
