MMSU hard-hitters dominate taekwondo; notch 8 golds
POWERHOUSE MMSU taekwondo club released their barrage blows, forceful bullet-kicks, sharp axe kicks, bombarding turning-longs accompanied with swift movements and awesome footworks to totally damage and wreck their opponents yesterday.
MMSU bagged a total of 8 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes to dethrone the defending champs DMMMSU who only finished with 6 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes. Trailing behind is the PSU wolves who clinched 1 gold, 8 silvers and 6 bronzes while UNP kickers wrapped up 1 gold, 3 silvers and 8 bronzes. Also ISPSC flocked 1 silver and 8 bronze.
MMSU hard-hitters who rammed home golds were Louie R. Ballesteros(middleweight division), Irvin Dhoen Baclig and Kristel Lucas(welterweight division), Ralph Jelv Sentinellar and Gladys Sanculi(featherweight division), Dashiel Singson(flyweight division), Blesy Cadalzo and Emil Aceret(finweight division). Jerhan Ventura march with the silver in the bantamweight division together with Jeramia Padron while Smacky Manzano and Levi Galeon seized bronze medals in the lightweight and flyweight divisions respectively.
DMMMSU gold medalists were Mejadeva Mejia, Mc Gerald Asignacion, Juana Rose Doetolero, Michsela May Nitura, Lyndon Joy Gapuz and Jhanna Marie Bartolome; Ace Martinez-PSU; Kernell Padre-UNP.
\"We feel no pain! We religiously practiced for this and really the crowd did their part for us which gave us the real courage and strengths to conquer all our talented opponents,\" MMSU Taekwondo team remarked.
The spectators cheered for the MMSU kickers and offered a standing ovation as then real champions fought like a true warrior outshining their foes in the battlefield. (Jeffrey Balicao)
