ISPSC benchmarks MMSU Nursing’s best practices and RLE system
By Brett Andrew Rikke Bungcayao, STRATCOM Correspondent
The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) visited the Mariano Marcos State University’s (MMSU) College of Health Sciences (CHS) on September 4 to benchmark the best practices and Related Learning Experience (RLE) fee system of its Nursing Program.
The delegation was received by CHS Dean Dr. Cheryll Didi Nellie Obra, together with Department of Nursing Chair Dr. Roel Beljamin, RLE Coordinator Assistant Professor Marianne Hazel Abad, Assistant Professor Romelee Calili, and Mr. Andrei Beaver Fernandez.
Representing ISPSC were Nursing Program Chairperson Mandy Roie Atendido, Midwifery Program Chairperson Amelia C. Antonio, and Assistant Dean Gevin R. Soriano, along with faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Atendido highlighted the importance of the visit, stating, “We need to review and compare the RLE fees of nursing students, as this will be vital in finalizing our own guidelines. Last year, we also came to MMSU to benchmark in preparation for the opening of our Nursing Program. We greatly admire MMSU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing, being a Level IV accredited program, as well as the strategic leadership of CHS Dean Dr. Obra, under whose guidance the program thrives.”
Held at the CHS Accreditation Room, the meeting focused on reviewing MMSU’s historical data on enrollment and RLE fees, which will serve as valuable references for ISPSC in establishing its own fee structure and enhancing its nursing education offerings.
The benchmarking activity concluded with a courtesy call on MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr., further strengthening the collaborative ties between the two institutions.
