The MMSU College of Teacher Education (CTE) celebrated its 107th Foundation Anniversary from June 23 to 25 with the theme, “Strengthening the Brand of Excellence through Stakeholder Engagement”.

The anniversary kicked off with the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Caravan, during which government agencies discussed their various services alongside the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte Kadiwa Express Program and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Meanwhile, the college celebrated the ruby anniversary of Batch 1984. Mr. Joshua Dagupion of the MMSU CTE Student Council, Dr. Alegria Tan-Visaya of the CTE Alumni Association, and Hon. Alfredo M. Peralta II, Barangay Captain of Brgy. 5 San Pedro expressed their gratitude and support for the alumni night.

Led by Dr. Romelyn Lagura, the MMSU Center for Teaching Excellence conducted a webinar that focused on educational reforms for enhanced excellence. Dr. Johnson Sunga of the Department of Education Region I and Dr. Runvi Manguerra of the Teacher Education Council Secretariat shared insights on recalibrating teacher education and the implications of RA 11713, emphasizing their alignment with national and international standards.

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis commended the CTE faculty members, staff, and alumni for their continuous commitment to nurturing minds and fostering a rich learning environment for the students.

In his message, Dr. Aris Reynold Cajigal, CTE dean, underscored the resilience and unity sustained by MMSU CTE over the years. “CTE did not only earn international recognition but the college has consistently produced top achievers and maintained its standing as a leading institution in the Philippines”, he said.

To conclude the celebration, the MMSU Teatro Normal Laboratoryo held its “Taldiap 3.0: An MMSU Teatro Normal Gala Presentation”, a stage play directed by Dr. James G. Ventura III.
