MMSU alumni donate P400K for open learning space refurbishment at CTE

A better open learning space at the College of Teacher Education (CTE) is in the works as the MMSU Federated Alumni Association, Inc. (FAAI) and the MMSU Global  Association, Inc. (MGA)-Hawaii donated P400,000 during a ceremonial cheque turnover on February 17.

 

Located at the TVLED Building, the project is part of the university’s initiative to create a more modernized and improved learning environment for students, which aims to transform to develop a collaborative, comfortable, and resource-rich area where they can engage in group activities, independent study, and discussions.

 

MGA President Lawrence Patricio told the students that the space would help them work on their academics in a conducive environment. “We, as alumni, would like to inspire you, dear students, to take pride in the institution that has shaped who we are today,” he said in Ilokano.

 

CTE Dean Ronald Candy Lasaten expressed gratitude to the alumni as the project could contribute to the development and success of MMSU students. “Your support to our students and faculty members means so much for our community and we are truly honored to have such a dedicated group of alumni,” he added.

 

Receiving the cheque was Dr. Alegria Visaya, president of the CTE Alumni Association, along with other officers and members of the Association. Alumni Regent Hon. Gwynette Quidang, former Alumni Regent Hon. Bismarck Quidang, CTE coordinators and faculty members, as well as other officers and members of the MMSU FAAI and MGA, witnessed the ceremonial turnover.
