A team of Doctor of Medicine students from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) secured 3rd place in the medical quiz bee during the 8th Association of Philippine Medical Colleges – Student Network (APMC-SN) National Convention held on May 2–4 at West Visayas State University in Iloilo City.

The team was composed of Steven Joseph Gambito (first year), Aira Kim De La Cruz (second year), and Bonjovie Tangid and Sebastian Jose Santos (third year), under the mentorship of Dr. Aira Cassandra Castro-Agra. The competition featured 10 teams—three each from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, and one from the National Capital Region.

Attended by more than 360 delegates, this year’s APMC-SN convention carried the theme “Luminaria,” emphasizing the vital role of future medical professionals as catalysts for change and beacons of hope in their communities. Participants also engaged in lectures and workshops aimed at enhancing medical education and leadership.
