THE UNIVERSITY’S Information and Technology Caravan (ITC) was adjudged Best Exhibit Booth during the Agro-industrial Trade Fair held as one of the activities of the Municipality of Dingras Annual Fiesta celebration.
As such, MMSU was given a trophy and a certificate of recognition.
In that fair, the university’s programs and projects were presented in various media forms. Majority of the exhibit posters featured extension-assisted clients who have succeeded in their respective business ventures such as food processing and shell craft making. Printed materials were even distributed to walk-in clients not only from Dingras but also from other towns in the province.
Aside from the MMSU products that were displayed and sold, the products of the university’s extension-assisted clients were also open for sale to the public. These clients were personally present in the booth to exhibit, promote, and sell their products. Seedlings and other planting materials were also displayed in the booth.
The ITC is MMSU-Extension Directorate’s strategic way of bringing to people and places everywhere development information and technologies generated by the university. This is a comprehensive and integrated strategy of facilitating and sustaining the transfer and utilization of information and technologies and was designed to supplement and complement other extension and communication strategies.
It is brought to towns and barangays not only in Ilocos Norte but also in nearby provinces during festivals and other public occasions. It has already received awards from various agencies since its implementation in 2001.
