
Grad School, Language Center hold lecture on Ilokano language

In celebration of the International Mother Language Day 2020, a lecture on Intellectualizing the Ilokano Language User and Speaker for Research and Scholarship for the Community was conducted last February 22 at the CTEX Hall, MMSU Laoag Campus.
Famous Ilokano studies scholar, Dr. Aurelio S. Agcaoili, associate professor and coordinator of the Ilokano Language and Literature Program of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, delivered a lecture on the intellectualization of the Ilokano Language.
In the activity, University President Shirley C. Agrupis emphasized the need to strengthen Ilokano studies in the university focusing on Ilokano language and culture.
The activity was participated in by graduate and undergraduate students in the university, particularly those who are taking PhD in Linguistics, MA Education (majors in Ilokano Studies, Language and Literature, and Wika at Panitikan), MA in English Language and Literature and AB English Language.
