DICT, MMSU agree to develop ICT training program

MMSU and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have agreed to develop information and communication technology (ICT) program through formal and informal learning.

In a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis and DICT Undersecretary Monchito B. Ibrahim last February 28, both parties will provide awareness, skills training, and competency to students, faculty members of MMSU, and the general public using DICT-developed courseware.

Among other things, this partnership aims to enhance the capability of MMSU in providing user training on DICT-developed technology-based and computer application packages; and facilitate easy access to ready and existing human resources, facilities, and processes in the execution of the ICT-related activities.

DICT agreed to provide the University with the DICT-developed courseware and official document templates, conduct training programs, develop sets of ICT materials, administer competency-based certification examination, review and accredit existing curriculum of MMSU, and undertake joint development of courses with the University.

To reciprocate this, MMSU will provide competent ICT members including the facilities and equipment for the conduct of the training courses related to the enhancement of  ICT, and spearhead the promotion and invitation of participants from the regional and local government offices related to the said mandate.

While this agreement has a span of six years, the two agencies believe that the program will achieve its purpose through collective cooperation.
