Mariano Marcos State University signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) on June 13 to transition from ISO Quality Management System (QMS) Certification to the Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).

The partnership aims to enhance the understanding and appreciation of MMSU on  the principles and requirements of ISO 21001:2018 EOMS, develop its capabilities in preparing for and sustaining the EOMS certification,  and formulate the preliminary documentation and establish implementation guidelines for the certification of the MMSU management system.

Now the third agreement forged between the two institutions since 2019, the new MoA was signed by MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. and Ms. Magdalena Mendoza, the officer-in-charge of DAP.

The ceremonial signing was attended by MMSU officials, including Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Aris Reynold Cajigal, Vice President for Administration and Finance Fides Bernardo Bitanga, and Planning Director Reynold Villacillo, along with Arnel Abanto, Acting Vice President of the DAP’s Productivity and Development Center.

Dr. Manzano expressed gratitude to DAP for its continued support of the initiatives of MMSU through mentoring and technical assistance, especially in the university’s quest to transition its ISO certification.

“With your continued support, we are more confident and capable of SUCCEEDing more and providing even better service to our students and stakeholders,” he told DAP representatives.

Meanwhile, DAP’s Mendoza recognized MMSU’s strong commitment to delivering quality education and meeting stakeholders’ needs as one of the first state universities and colleges in the Philippines applying for ISO EOMS certification.

ISO 21001:2018 EOMS is an international standard that provides a framework and specifies requirements for educational organisations to effectively and consistently  manage their processes, elevate student satisfaction, and ensure compliance with regulatory mandates.
