In preparation for face-to-face classes this semester, the College of Teacher Education of the Mariano Marcos State University launched the 'Rabbi-Yanihan' clean-and-green and beautification drive today, August 17.

With the theme “Rekindling the Bayanihan Spirit in the toward a Vibrant School-Community Partnership,” the six-day activity aims to create a conducive learning environment for all students who will attend in-person classes starting next Thursday, August 24.

College administrators, faculty and staff, students, parents, alumni, retirees, barangay officials, and other stakeholders joined hands in cleaning, repainting and repairing the classrooms, offices, laboratories and restrooms of the college. Moreover, they are set to repair the connections for electricity, water, internet and other utilities. Landscaping, fogging, and disinfection also forms part of the group’s to-do list.

The college will surrender unserviceable equipment and dispose valueless records in accordance with the MMSU Records Disposition Schedule approved by the National Archives of the Philippines.

CTE Dean Aris Reynold V. Cajigal said the activity is the college’s way of proving that the Bayanihan spirit is alive and thriving in the college, “all to nurture our future educators in a learner-friendly environment."

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis congratulated the CTE for initiating a massive clean-up drive, saying the activity is “worth emulating by other academic units toward truly achieving a vibrant and nurturing campus.” (HLY/JVBT/DPTJ, StratCom)
