A cash prize goes with the award.
During the flag-raising ceremony at FEM Hall, June 13, President Miriam E. Pascua expressed her happiness over Clemente’s feat, saying that \"outstanding human resources are indeed the university’s biggest treasure.\"
Clemente, who will represent Region 1 in the national finals to be held July 19-26 in Metro Manila, finished Refrigeration and Aircon Mechanics at the then MMSU Institute of Technology in 1987. Three years after, he obtained a BS in Industrial Education, also at MMSU-IT. In 2007, he earned an MA in Education major in Technician Education at the MMSU Graduate School.
He entered the university as an instructor in 1998 after teaching at the Overseas Technical Institute in Laoag City for seven years. He is currently a Refrigeration and Airconditioning trainor at CIT.
The nationally prestigious award remembers the late President Magsaysay, who epitomized and championed the best qualities and values of Filipino workers. PRMOFWA also promotes careers in technical vocational education and training, and inspires tech-voc graduates to aim for excellence.
Institutionalized in 1997 and now on its 13th year, the award, also dubbed as \"Idol ng Bayan,\" has complemented the rise of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority as the country’s technical education authority which was officially \"born\" on Aug. 25, 1994 with the passage of Republic Act 7796.
