Biggest and grandest: 3rd MMSU Global Alumni Reunion held in Honolulu

Bringing together alumni worldwide, the MMSU Global Association, Inc., in collaboration with the Federated Alumni Association, Inc. and Alumni Relations Office, hosted the 3rd MMSU Global Alumni Reunion on July 19 at the Hilton Hotel, Hawaii.

 

With the theme, “Strengthening the Bonds of MMSU Alumni,” this year's reunion was attended by 400 alumni, the biggest number to date. The event also provided a platform for recognizing outstanding contributions of the alumni community.

 

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis underscored her commitment to fostering connections and promoting the achievements of the university's alumni on the international stage.

 

Meanwhile, the crowning of the first MMSU Global Alumni King and Queen 2024 was the event's highlight, raising a total of USD 35,177.10. The amount will be used to establish open learning spaces in the university.

 

Marylin Tolentino Villar and Dr. Bert Gamiao alumni representatives from CTE, were hailed Global Alumni King and Queen. Following them were CBEA alumni representatives, Hon. Bismark Angelo Quidang and Andrea Ganal Sanchez and CHS representatives, Marc Kevin Agor Catabay and Eunice Miguel Hipolito. CAS representatives Erick Medrano and Aileen Grace Bagaoisan placed fourth while UHS representatives Ian Guillermo and Marsodeth Guillermo ranked fifth. CIT alumna, Maggie Tunac Marquez and COE alumni, Aladine Topinio Santos and Marjorette Tumaneng Pumaras were awarded sixth and seventh place, respectively.

 

Present at the event were Consul General Emilio T. Fernandez; State Representative May Mizuno; UH Chief Global Office Brent White; Hawaii community leaders from Sarrat Association; Vintar Ohana; Batacquenos of Hawaii; Annak ti Batac; International Labor Workers Union (Local 1000); Annak ti Badoc; New Marcos Town; Dingrenios; Representatives from Solsona; Pillars of Bangui; Adult Foster Homecare; United Community Healthcare; Community Healthcare Association of Hawaii; Divine Word College of Laoag alumni headed by Easter Pascual; Northwestern University headed by VP of Academic Affairs Gregoria Najorda; Team Aloha Hawaii; GUMIL Hawaii; Knight of Rizal; alumni from MMSU Laboratory High School, Graduate School, and other colleges.

 

The first MMSU Global Reunion was launched in 2018 at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The reunion gathered 136 MMSU alumni and former employees who are residing in different parts of the United States of America and Canada.
