Albarracin scholarship supports third batch of MMSU education students
By Jesslyn Keith Valite
Ten second-year education students of the MMSU College of Teacher Education (CTE) became the third batch to receive financial assistance through the Albarracín Scholarship on December 23. The grants were given in a ceremony held at the FEM Hall.
Each student, majoring in Science, Math, or English, received ₱7,500 for the first semester. They will get a total of ₱15,000 for the whole academic year. The scholarship will continue until they graduate, as long as they maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.50 or higher.
MMSU OIC-President Prima Fe R. Franco, represented Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Virgilio Julius Manzano Jr., congratulated the students for earning the scholarship. He encouraged them to use the financial help wisely and focus on their studies and personal growth for a better future.
Dean Rex Dagon, an English major, said the stipend he received is a big help with his school-related expenses. Ian Hapa, a Science major, added that the long-term scholarship would help cover his educational costs until graduation.
The Albarracin Scholarship Program, started by Mr. Magdaleno Albarracin Jr. and Mrs. Trinidad Albarracin, is a private initiative that provides financial aid to deserving students. During the 2022-2024 school years, two batches of CTE students received a one-time grant of PhP 5,000 each from the Albarracin Scholarship Fund.
The Albarracin Scholarship Program is one of MMSU’s partner grants that supports the development and success of future educators.
