The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) College of Agriculture, Food, and Sustainable Development (CAFSD) is set to expand its global collaboration as it teams up with the Agro-Eco Veda (AEV) Club of Indonesia for a joint project on climate change mitigation and natural resources management.

CAFSD Dean Dr. Charlie B. Batin shared that the initiative was among the highlights of his meeting with AEV Manager Nataliya Shchegolkova on August 14, which also tackled the renewal of MMSU’s partnership with the club.

The discussion coincided with the Young Agro-Eco Visionary 2025 held on August 2–17 in Bali, Indonesia, where Dr. Batin represented the Philippines as an AEV member.

Forged in 2021, the MMSU–AEV partnership has been instrumental in pursuing collaborative efforts in agriculture and ecology. Through this tie-up, MMSU has joined various international activities, including this year’s youth competition-workshop on applied environmental projects, where the MMSU team bagged the championship.

“We hope that the planned initiatives will come into fruition for the benefit of the MMSU community and our stakeholders,” Dr. Batin expressed.

The upcoming joint project underscores MMSU’s continuing commitment to sustainability and global cooperation in addressing pressing environmental challenges.

The Agro-Eco Veda Club is a non-profit organization connecting agricultural and ecological specialists to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental solutions through collaborative research, education, and innovation. The club, with members from across the Asia-Pacific, provides international workshops and forums for young professionals to develop projects and exchange knowledge on issues like land use, waste management, and resource efficiency.
