By Paulene Paglumotan
Six MMSU Physical Therapy (PT) students undergo clinical immersion at Seirei Christopher University (SCU) in Japan from October 18 to November 1 as part of the student exchange program between the two universities.
The second batch of MMSU students participating in the said exchange program includes Yasmien Ausa, Josiah Henry Bolompo, Darelle Faith Dansalan, Aira Shayne Gayap, Frances Aura Maramba, and Jazzelle Lidiyah Yapo.
Accompanied by University Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Chief Mary Audrey Viloria, the students were welcomed by SCU students and officials following an orientation that highlighted the goals and expected outcomes of the program.
During their stay, the MMSU students will engage in various hands-on activities in collaboration with SCU students and professors, enabling them to gain knowledge and understanding of different treatment methods and practices in physical therapy. The students will conduct their immersion at SCU’s partner hospitals and clinics, namely Morimachi Public Hospital, Sakai Neurologic Clinic, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Terada Pain Clinic, Nishiyama Hospital, and Hamamatsu Rehabilitation Hospital.
In October 2024, the first batch of MMSU PT students participated in a two-week clinical immersion at SCU, providing valuable clinical experience and further strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The partnership between MMSU and SCU, which began in 2021, aims to enhance health-related programs through student and faculty exchanges and the sharing of academic resources. In January 2025, both universities signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), further strengthening their continuing partnership.
